Happy ValenSlime Day Printable Class Valentine’s
I love a good no candy option for class handouts. My kids have enough sweets in their life and I like to do a little something fun for the kids each year. This year I found some awesome heart shaped slime at Target and knew exactly what I was going to make with that! These ValenSlime Day printables cards are sure to be a quick and easy hit for kids and parents!
I prefer to make the valentine’s saying a little catchy and also not all lovey dovey. I have a 1st and 4th grader, we ain’t about that yet. I went with a little quirky play on words with the “goo” and “slime” and created this printable that you can get for free here. From there I printed out enough sheets of cards on cardstock and gathered my supplies to get to work.
Assembling the “ValenSlimes”
With the sheets of printables in hand, grab some scissors, tape and the slime and get to assembling. If you cannot find the heart slimes at Target, you can order these heart shaped containers from Amazon and then make your own slime with this recipe from my friend Amy. The kids and I were able to make 40 of these ValenSlimes in under 10 minutes. It was a super easy assembly line.
I quickly cut apart the printables. I used regular scissors, but it could have went much faster had I used a scrapbooking paper cutter like this one I found on Amazon. Mine was tucked away and so I just went for it with the scissors.
I was still able to cut the 40 ValenSlimes out quickly, but the perfectionist in me was upset that some of my lines were wiggly. Yes, I said it. After the printables were cut out, I used some scotch tape to adhere the slime to the card.
I placed it right on the outline of the heart and then we stuck a slime to each of the cards. The kids were wizzes at this and it was awesome to just roll some tape, stick it on and have the kids add the slime.
Just like that the Valenslimes were ready to go. All that is left is for my kids to sign the cards and hand them out to their classmates. One thing off the list for the week and all it took was 10 minutes.
Hope you also have a wonderful ValenSlime Day with these printable class Valentine’s!
