Happy 6th Birthday Peanut!

Sharing is caring!

Six years ago, this wild thing burst into our lives.  Her birth experience was a million times different then her brother’s, which should have been a premonition into what life with her would be like.  Life is busy, silly, loving, dramatic and so much more than I could have ever imagined.  I cannot believe, that it has been 6 years, so today, we celebrate our little peanut and all that this year has brought!

Happy 6th Birthday Peanut!

If you are new around here, you know I am not big on sharing my kids names.  They deserve their own lives and privacy and although they LOVE everything that has to do with this blog, I still want that little privacy for them.  We have always called this one a peanut.  She was tiny at birth (just over 6lbs) and is still one of the tiniest kids her age we know.  Tiny has never stopped this girl, only made her personality that much bigger and some of those personality traits that have became stronger this year, I just had to share!

Oh the Drama!

This peanut caries a very dramatic personality, but more than that, she just feels everything.  She cares, she loves, she is passionate and if she has an opinion or a feeling or an emotion, you will not only hear it, but you will see and feel it with her.  Her drama is part of her personality and although it can drive me insane, it is also something that I love about her!

Self Confidence Goals

One thing I want her to always be proud of is her confidence.  This girl, knows what she wants, when she wants it and will represent her likes and dislikes boldly.  This past year we saw her become more assertive with her outfit choices, opinions on hair and so much more.  I only anticipate this part of her personality coming out stronger in the next few years.

I mean look at these outfits and hairstyles.  She would wear these out if I let her and well, sometimes I do let her.  However, you can’t wear gloves as shoes and nightgowns are not dresses silly girl.

Loves the Spotlight

If there is a camera or a stage, she is there for it.  She knows she is cute, she will strike a pose and she will go for it.  She is very much like her mother when it comes to entertaining and sharing her passions.  She loves the spotlight and loves to dress up and show off how adorable she is.

The Year of New Things!

The year of 5 meant that so much new would be happening in her life.  From kindergarten to haircuts and tooth fairy visits, this year brought a lot of awesome experiences for her.

Kindergarten has been a great experience for our little social butterfly.  She has made new friends, has found more boyfriends and loves her teacher and learning so much. It has been wonderful to watch her learn to read and count and listen and be proud of her own goals and accomplishments as well.

She dresses up daily for school, picks out bows or headbands and even helps pack her own lunch…which usually ends up on her clothing and face.  She has everyone wrapped around her little finger because that is just who she is and man does she know it.

She is doing so well that her teacher even awarded her with Student of the Month!  I was surprised to see this award come home, but so so so proud!  She is setting an example for her classmates and being a leader and a good human and that above all is the most important trait I hope she keeps.

Two days before kindergarten started, this little girl found the scissors and gave herself a beautiful haircut. She lost like 5-6 inches off and I cried.  This was not her first haircut, but it was definitely the first BIG one.  It is something that I do not want to forget.  She was so mad at herself and I just remember that the stylist at the salon initially was like “oh this will be easy” and then she saw the underside and gasped.  Hair drama was not the way to start kinder, but we came through it.

She also experienced her first (and second and third) lost tooth!  It was a big day in our home when she popped that first tooth right out, then the second and on the third, she wouldn’t pull it, instead the school secretary did and boy was it a big deal for her!  Bye baby teeth!

Her Favorite Things

This one is opinionated and she is sure of everything that she loves.  She snacks all day and loves chocolate and other candy.  She will spend hours watching Netflix kids and Disney movies and even more hours playing dress up, babies and barbies in her room.  However, she has some big time favorites that I just have to share.

Just Like Mommy

If I am taking a shower, she is taking a shower. If I have a particular outfit on, she is going to match that.  If I have a headband on, so does she.  This girl wants to be just like mommy and tells me daily.  She wants to be a teacher and she makes me smile everyday when she emulates me.

Water Baby

She LOVES water and with last years swim lessons, she is now more confident and excited to be in the water than ever.  She constantly asks to go swimming or to take a bath and you better believe that if there is a puddle or pond of water, she is going to be in it.

Cooking

She wants to be in the kitchen and she wants to cook and create meals.  If she is not helping us in the kitchen, she is creating play food with play doh or playing tea party.  She absolutely loves to cook and eat anything that she makes.

All the Stuffies

I swore up and down that we would limit the amount of stuffed animals that came into our home.  That was before this one came into our lives and showed us that we truly have no control.  She loves anything that is snuggly, stuffed and loveable.

I am so proud of this little girl.  All that she has overcame, her massive personality and how passionate she loves life and her family.  We are so lucky to share life with her and cannot wait to see what 6 brings; 5 was pretty cool!  She has big plans for her birthday week and is excited to share it with her friends from school and family.  I am just excited to watch her continue to grow, love and be a good human.

Happy Birthday Peanut!
