So we are back from our weekend trip to Disneyland and I have to admit that I was not cautious about what I ate. I was grubbing down on Mickey Mouse ice cream sandwiches and churros and dole whips. I have a terrible sweet tooth and am particularly a huge fan of chocolate shakes. This morning it was time to get back on track and I turned straight to my Nuzest drink mix to get me back on track!
We got in at nearly 4 am this morning and I was up with the kids and the puppy at 9 am. I am tired, I am hungry and instead of eating a bowl of cereal, I wanted to start the week off right and get back on my health grind. I pulled together 3 quick ingredients and had breakfast ready in a flash.
Ice, Cacoa Mint Quick Vita Kick and milk blended well, is all I needed to get going for the day. I used a cup of ice, 2 scoops of the QVK and 1 cup of 2% milk for the perfect healthy mint chocolate shake. It really is healthy too! It has 170 calories, 6g of fat, 17g of carbs and 14g of protein total. It is not as low carb as I prefer, but it is much better than that bowl of sugary cereal that I was about to consume.
Quick Vita Kick is one of Nuzest great products that is full of vitamins and designed to give us a lift during the day. It is gluten free, soy free and 100% vegan. It comes in cacoa mint, cacoa banana and cacoa honey. You can mix it with water, milk or whatever other liquid or smoothie you want to create.
It is quick to make and the mint chocolate shake is very good. It has a dark chocolate flavor with that kick of mint and when mixed with milk it has a creamy flavor. I will say that there is a bit of a chalky after taste at the end of the shake, but if you mix as you are drinking, it is not as apparent.
