Wedding Preparations

Sharing is caring!

In just 23 short days my little sister will be walking down the isle towards an amazing man whom we have all fallen for.  He is truly her soulmate and honestly the only man in the world that I think could tame that wild child.  He gets her and she loves him.

Between everything I have going on in my own life, I am also the Maid of Honor in my sisters wedding and my little people are the ring bearer and the flower girl.  Our house is busy and I am doing a lot of DIY wedding prep.

I made the bouquets and the flower girl ball.   For my first try, I think they turned out pretty good. I wish I would have taken photos but I was already 3 hours into crafting-land when I started on these and my kids were starting to drive grandma crazy.  The basics are that we took bouquet handle molds, removed the center piece and hot glued a foam ball.  I then hot glued all of the flowers onto the ball, filling in holes and evening out all sides.  Finally I wound twine around the plastic handle, hot glued some pearls for decoration and tied some ribbon.

My sister is anti-center-of-attention, so the thought of a bridal shower or a bachelorette party were just not up her alley.  However, I did tell her that she only will do this once and that it would be nice to get everyone together for a nice evening to just hang out.  So that is what we are doing.  I created these adorable invites using my Silhouette Machine and some stock designs from the Silhouette Design Store.  From there I just used the “registration marks” feature and printed the font from my home printer and then placed them in the Silhouette and viola these little beauties are great!

Then there was this!  While my mom has taken on the task of making the adorable flower girl dress, I took on the ring bearer outfit.  I made the vest and the bow tie in one day and although the lighting is terrible, the outfit is adorable and I am pretty proud of my sewing skills.

There is still SO much to do and I am dealing with some health issues right now, which is draining but there is a light at the end of the tunnel I hope.  Either way, the wedding countdown is on and we are so very excited!
Tell me what is your favorite part of wedding planning?
