My husband and I have been together for almost 22 years. Between work and kids and schedules, we have become terrible about dating each other. What You Need:

Steps to Making Conversation Heart Date Night Tokens

Start by grabbing this free design on Cricut Design Space. Then hit customize and edit the date night ideas to fit your relationship joys (or keep the ones we use)! Once you are ready, set up your strong grip mat with whatever color of felt you like (I used the classic conversation heart colors, but this can easily be adapted to be wedding colors for a wedding gift or favorite colors for an anniversary or birthday gift).

How to iron on vinyl to felt

I used masking tape around the edges of the felt to secure the felt to my strong grip mat just to be sure that there would be NO slippage. Once the mat was set up, I went ahead and put my fabric blade in and then set the machine to cut. After the hearts were all cut out, I grabbed my iron on vinyl and made sure to mirror the words before cutting using the standard grip mat. Then I cut the words out, weeded them and used my EasyPress Mini to press the words onto each heart. After that I put them in this little index card box which has been perfect.

Container to hold date night tokens

My hearts are a bit thicker because my original idea was to have them be wooden tokens, but I chose a writing font and not a cutting font when I did the wooden hearts and boy was it a mess. However, I hate getting rid of products that can be used so I repurposed them and made them the backing of my felt hearts. The felt hearts alone, are still awesome, so do not feel like you need to bulk them up.

That is it! Now just grab a container, you can add your own names and the “Date Night” logo in the design to the container if you would like. We have seriously LOVED these tokens. I wasn’t so sure how it would go, but honestly, we look forward to grabbing a token in the morning or early in the week and then spending that 1:1 quality time together.

Don’t forget to grab the design and enjoy your conversation heart date night tokens!
