Sometimes all any relationship needs is focus time. Many times we all forget this as we get caught up in life. After we decided not to go to Mexico in April, Jason and I took a look at out relationship and the amount of time we actually spend together. With our schedules being so vastly different, it is difficult. So we decided to re-book for a different destination and shorter time period to celebrate, reinvest, refocus and renew.
Mexico was a fantastic decision but we did all of that and more! We celebrated my upcoming 30th birthday and our 6th year anniversary. We reinvested in our relationship and had REAL conversations that were not kid focused! We also were able to relax, refocus and come back fully renewed. Mexico was just what OUR FAMILY needed. Jason and I returned ready to face the challenges of marriage and parenting and more in love with both each other and our sweet babies.
So for some pictures and stories!
On the Plane SUPER nervous for my VERY FIRST International flight. It was probably the smoothest flight ever.
Our Resort (Iberostar Playa Mita) was gorgeous. Food was ok, but everything else was wonderful…Particularly their Margarita!
I was elated to finally arrive and check our the views from our room, and be with a bunch of my favorite people. Jasons Aunt, Uncle, Cousin and my BFF Stacey and her boyfriend joined us. We had a great time!
And then the tequilla shots started…and there is a whole day+ that was a bit, um, rough, because we drank
ALL THE TEQUILLA.
The rest of the trip EVERYONE was asking if we wanted “mas tequilla senorita?”
So we relaxed on the beach
Had some Hibachi
Chased around these crazy guys, which were EVERYWHERE!
Took some sunset pictures on the beach
And then we had to say goodbye to Mexico…
…but I got to take this guy home!
I truly recommend doing a couples trip if you are struggling. Doesn’t have to be exotic, just get away, just the two of you.
