Cricut Explore Air 2

A little under a month ago, the best email hit my inbox!  Cricut invited me to be a part of their ambassador program and it was a dream come true.  I started this blog because I didn’t have time to scrapbook my son’s milestones, so I wanted to have a digital place to keep memories so I could go back and pull the information for his baby book (which I still do)!

Cricut Goodies

My first Mother’s Day, my husband gave me a Cricut Expressions machine that I was still using to this day.  I have been a long time Cricut fan, so it was a no brainer to say yes to their ambassador program and all the goodies and projects that come with that.  I was sent a new Cricut Explore Air 2, an EasyPress 2, an EasyPress Mat, Cardstock and various types of Cricut Vinyl to use.

Cricut Explore Air 2

My original Cricut did not have the connectivity abilities that the new Cricut Explore Air 2 does.  Set up was simple.  Just go to their website, create an account, set up some quick software and plug and go.  You can use their online Cricut Design program to create anything your heart desires.  I really love that the new machines come in really gorgeous colors, that there is a little storage cup and spaces in the machine, that you can sync your old cartridges with the new machine and that it also has a really wonderful mat guide to keep the mat from sliding!

First Project Experience

I have been using a Cricut for 10 years as well as a competitor brand.  I was feeling pretty confident going into this.  I maintain most of that confidence as I walk away from my first experience.  I decided to start with something simple, but personalized and wanted to make sure that anyone that is just opening their Cricut Explore Air 2 for the first time, could easily make this with little experience.

Cricut Lizzo Cut File

I am in love with a certain artist right now and decided to jump on that “100% that witch” theme but switch it up a bit.  I saved Lizzo’s logo to my desktop and then uploaded it to Cricut Design Space.  From there you follow the prompts to create a cut file.  I also did this with the witch hat.  From there, I picked a font, wrote out what I was wanting to cut and then followed the prompts to make the design.

It was awesome that Cricut Design Space sorted my project by color and organized the images and fonts to be cut to use the least amount of vinyl.  I also liked how simple it was to choose your cut settings and even customize them based on material.  A simple turn of the knob on the Cricut Explore Air 2 makes this process so smooth.  Follow the prompts, weed the vinyl and then prepare to put it on whatever your heart desires!

Ultimate Halloween Coffee Tumbler

I have become quite the coffee drinker and with winter here, I am taking less cold brews and more of that hot bean water.  I couldn’t pass up this $2.00 blank tumbler and had to put my little Lizzo saying on this.  It really is the ultimate Halloween coffee tumbler!

I cannot even wait to walk into my classroom on Monday with this, my students are going to crack up and I know it is going to be a big hit!  You can download the free SVG file here to make your own!
