The Perfect Gift for Family #PortraitInnovations [ad]

Disclosure: We are partnering with Portrait Innovations and were provided with a portrait session. All opinions are my own.
Last week my sister and I snuck off to Loveland Colorado, to create a surprise for our mom with her grand-babies in tow! I get family photos done every year, but my sister is not about that life, however, she was completely game to make sure that our mom got her photos of her babies for Christmas this year! Luckily, Portrait Innovations came through with an awesome session that I know our mom will love.
I just happened to grab this sweater for our guy and the dress for our girl the other day. I had no plan on using them until maybe Christmas day or just because, until we set up our session. I texted my sister photos of the outfits and she ran to the store and found one that she thought would work well for my nephew!
We showed up and the boys were matched nearly identical! I call that a win and also some sister telepathy or something, because even their shoes matched and we definitely didn’t plan that! We got into Portrait Innovations and my kids were wound up and so completely unfocused that I was sure this was going to be a disaster. On top of it, the baby was sooo sick and non-cooperative.
Apparently, none of that mattered because our amazing photographer Markisha, attentively jumped in and was able to capture our kids perfectly. In fact, my sister and I were shocked that she was able to get the photos and their attention without so much as a sweat. No joke, I would have lost it and she was cool as a cucumber, completely pulling their attention to her and bringing out those smiles that make a mama’s heart melt.
I mean just look at these kids faces! They look completely focused on the photographer and living in the moment. It was awesome and we are so thankful that the session was truly stress free for these mama’s and those sweet babies.
We had the option to do an outfit change, but decided not too. Instead we did some different backgrounds. Some were plain and some were festive, but each background brought out different features in our kids. We both really liked the plain white background because of how bright and happy our kids looked. I also love that you can see that red tint to my nephews hair.
We cannot wait to surprise our mom with these photos. There were so many incredibly good shots of our kids that it was hard to choose which ones we wanted to feature in the special effects collage for her! We ordered a package of photos which came with 6 poses printed with 2 sheets each, 2 special effect photos, 20 holiday cards, and a CD of our session. The best part was that the photo package was completely ready to pick up within an hour of our session. After driving nearly an hour, that was welcome news! We just grabbed some dinner just a few minutes from Portrait Innovations and by the time we were done eating, the photos were ready for pickup and looked amazing!
Gah! This one just kills me! Totally going on the holiday mantle this year! If you are looking to get some awesome photos done, you can use your store locator to book your appointment online.
