My husband was not allowed to eat for 18 hours prior to his surgery so I took one for the team and did the same. We had our last meal at 5pm on Sunday night and his surgery was at 1pm the next day. I was STARVING, but I didn’t need to have my tonsils cut out, so I could manage. The minute they took him back I grabbed my water and a Nuzest Good Green Snack Bar to try.
I figured while he was back, I would do a little blog work to keep my mind busy. The idea was good, but not fruitful. I was nervous for him and for his recovery. I did some photos of the Good Green Snack Bar to get me up and moving and get rid of those nerves.
Reading the packaging you can see that they do not have artificial anything, there are only natural sugars and it is paleo and vegan friendly. I liked that it was made with whole fruit and was hoping for a sweet start to my first meal.
I am not a huge fan of breakfast bars or energy bars. There is a texture issue for me with them and I have a hard time getting past that. I took a few bites of the Good Green Snack bar and was pleasantly surprised. The texture was similar to that of other bars on the market, but the flavor was not bland at all. There is a little crunch to the bar and some sweetness from the fruit that is in there. I will admit that I did not finish the entire bar (texture gets me every time) and I will likely not purchase them again, but for people that want a sweet multivitamin bar with a little crunch that is full of real food, this would be a good bar to try out.
By the time I opened my computer, took some photos and a few bites of the bar, the doctor was calling me back to the consult room to tell me how the surgery went. Of course all went well and it was just an impatient waiting game before they pulled me back to the recovery room with him. I was very relieved when I was able to see him. Recovery at home has been rough. He has ups and downs and the swelling is the hardest part for him. However, we are making it through and doing our best to lay low.
