Our Week in Review!

Sharing is caring!

This week has been relaxing and busy all at the same time.  It is kind of odd because I feel like I have done absolutely nothing and then I look at all the photos I took and realize that I totally was busy and had a great week.  So here is a little recap of our busy/relaxing week in review!
The peanut and I planted our herb garden (bottom) and made a little fairy garden too!  My mom got us a little kit from WalMart and we just made a small one in an old hanging planter.  We planted basil, chives, cilantro and oregano!  I am so excited to have a little herb garden separate from our large garden because herbs can really take over.

We also harvested our first strawberries from our little plants!  This made my whole week and they were AMAZING.  I cannot wait for more.

On Saturday we ran into town to grab some things at the hardware store and remembered that our local fire department was having an educational day!  Of course we stopped and the kids got to check out some of the awesome old firetrucks, complete and obstacle course and take this amazing picture with the beautiful golden eagle.  My sons face just cracks me up!

Sunday one of the most scary moments happened in our house and I have been consumed with it for a few days.  Our older black dog bit our yellow lab.  Basically the lab had a play bone and is very possessive over toys, bones, food, snacks, anything.  Our daughter went and hugged the lab and she started growling.  I told the dog no, and in a split second our black dog reacted and bit the lab in the top of the head.  Two rather large puncture wounds and blood everywhere, not to mention a terrified baby girl who by some miracle was pushed out of the way of the fight by the black dog.  It was an eventful Sunday morning.  We took our pup to the vet and she is just fine.  No stitches, some antibiotics and an anti-inflammatory.  Already you can barely see the wounds and they dogs are back to being playful and snuggly with each other.  We consulted a behaviorist and our vet and all are in agreement that the black dog was most likely protecting the baby and that the lab just cannot handle toys and other items around…well anyone.  We have some stuff to work on here to keep our family (including the dogs) safe.
Ha this “bandaid” lasted like 10 minutes!

Most mornings after swimming the kids and I came home and snuggled up.  We watched cartoons and movies and snacked and played board games and babies and transformers and laughed a lot.  It was pretty much perfect and exactly how I like spending summers.  Now of course I have a bunch of activities planned, but we are almost always done by nap time and that leaves A LOT of snuggle family time to enjoy!  I can definitely spend the next 9 weeks doing this.

Oh and finally, my sister, brother-in-law, mother and friend all got together today to work on some wedding decor stuff.  We made all the table runners, bouquets, boutonnieres, cake cutting things, champagne glasses and started on the centerpieces.  The best part however, was when my brother-in-law helped to make the bridesmaid bouquets.  He pretty much just stuck flowers all over and although it had some positives he also added some toy frogs and called it a “Burlap Sundae.”  My sister and I lost it.

I am excited for this week!  Cannot wait to share all the fun with y’all
