Saturday we screened Ferdinand and I pretty much had all the emotions. I knew the story prior to seeing the new movie and still walked away, teary-eyed and ready to watch it again, and watch again we will! The kids and I will definitely be catching Ferdinand in the theater over the holiday break!
Ferdinand hits theaters tomorrow and is the classic story of the bull that was built for bigger things than bullfighting. He is a big guy, full of love and passion. We all really enjoyed the movie and decided to share our 3 reasons that you should see Ferdinand tomorrow!
1. Be Yourself
Ferdinand is all about embracing who you are. Ferdinand accepts who he is and advocates for himself and his true passions throughout the movie. He may be a bit shy, but he is a big guy, who knows who he is and works hard to stay that guy forever. As a parent, I love that a movie really promotes self-love and acceptance of who you are regardless of social norms!
2. Love One Another
Ferdinand is a friend to all. He will befriend anyone and shows nothing but love to those around him. Ferdinand is a great example of how to love and care for those around you and how to see past the exterior of a person. Acceptance and love are so important in this world.
3. Your Differences are Assets
Each character in this movie have their own unique personalities, looks, passions and fears. As the movie progresses, we see how each individuals characteristics are assets in various scenes. Some scenes are funny, some are action packed and some have a little bit of emotion to them, but every character brings a unique something to the table. It is really great seeing how the movie built on the differences in a positive manner overall, and I love that my kids were able to see that it is ok to be different, embrace that and use that as an asset.
