WellieWishers™ Are Life
Two years ago, Camille entered our home. It was my daughters very first American Girl® and to this day she goes many places with us. After Camille, came Willa and then Ashlynn and with each WellieWishers™ doll, my daughter became more and more obsessed with their stories, their love of the outdoors and those perfect Wellington boots.
The WellieWishers™ dolls are designed to teach young girls kindness, empathy and friendship skills through various stories and adventures. We have poured over the books and loved learning through the WellieWishers™. With 3 of the dolls in our home, we knew it was only a matter of time before the last two girls joined our home.
Emerson and Kendall were our missing links and we were elated when they showed up on our doorstep along with the awesome holiday accessories! Our daughter loves these dolls. I wish I could convey that love through this post, but just know that if she had to choose between her WellieWishers™ and a trip to Disneyland, she would choose her “Wellies”. The WellieWishers™ are life to this little girl and we are so lucky to have their stories and dolls in our lives.
Holiday Cookie Baking Made Easy
The dolls are amazing, but when my daughter saw the Cookie Baking Set made specially for the WellieWishers™ in the bright colors and perfect sizes, she told me that we had to use them and we ALL had to make some cookies. Look, mama was exhausted, fighting a cold and trying to keep her life together for Thanksgiving, but I did not want to let her down, so we did some holiday cookie baking…the easy way!
I purchased the premade sugar cookie dough. There is no shame…it is not about the process people, it is about the time spent. We rolled out the dough and used cookie cutters to make some fun shapes. We also made some simple circle cookies too. Honestly, I think her favorite part of cookie making was rolling out the dough. We then popped them into the oven and waited for them to bake and then cool before we got to decorating.
This girl. You guys, she went hard on the cookie decorating. I mean she grabbed that icing and decorated 2 dozen cookies. Yes 2 DOZEN, icing filled, sprinkle covered sugar cookies that were delicious.
My favorite part of the process was watching her create various designs and explain to the WellieWishers™ what exactly she was creating. “This cookie is a bunny for you Willa”, “Emerson, I think you will like this one because it has bows like you and me” were some of the sweet things she was saying to her dolls.
She was so focused, so happy and we spent a lot of time laughing, creating and snacking. It was a perfect afternoon with just the little girl and I. We rarely get these moments together and I was so happy that the WellieWishers™ and their Cookie Baking Set inspired a day of quality time with my daughter, making lasting memories.
The New WellieWishers™ Holiday Accessories
Our baking afternoon was most definitely inspired by the adorable Cookie Baking Set from American Girl®. The minute this box arrived, my daughter was all over her plans of making cookies and decorating and putting sprinkles and making them all beautiful. She wanted to go through the whole process with me and her WellieWishers™ dolls and I was game.
The Cookie Baking Set features 25 pieces of everything your child and dolls need to make some beautiful cookies. With a hat, hand mixer, cookie cutters and decorating supplies, there is so much to do and create, and even display! The Cookie Baking Set items fit nicely in the WellieWishers™ hands as well.
We definitely enjoyed having the WellieWishers™ involved in our cookie baking afternoon. My daughter would roll out the real cookie dough and then cut out the shapes and place on the sheet, then she would re-enact this with her dolls.
Kendall & Emerson
Of course our day would not have been completed without Kendall and Emerson joining our family. These are the last 2 of the WellieWishers™ dolls that we were missing. We have read numerous stories featuring these two girls and having them join our family was awesome. We also received the super cute “Snow Much Fun” outfit that any of the WellieWishers™ can wear. Great pattern and colors and those shoes and ear muffs are just adorable! Love having outfits that we can switch out.
