The album, that has a 90’s alternative rock feel to it, brings together two worlds. Don from rags to riches who fell for the privileged beauty in his future wife Lisa. It takes you through their journey, from dating to marriage and the trials and tribulations throughout. It is so calming and beautiful to listen to and gives you the sense that their personal vibe is also very calm, comforting and beautiful too. It really brings out that that is life.

I just cannot get enough of “The Queen and The Outcast”, and I have been streaming it constantly for the last few weeks and reading tons of background information on Don and Lisa. He really put his heart into writing these songs and takes us through the emotions that himself and Lisa were going through as they were married, having children and adjusting to those huge changes that life brings. The blend of rock with pop hooks takes me back to my childhood years and brings back my own memories of young love and my husband and I’s journey as well. These songs hit home.

I loved looking at Don’s handwritten lyrics. The one above is from “And There They Were” and is a story of the clash of classes at their wedding day. It is a bit comical but more than anything is really is honest to good music. Check out the tracklisting below, test drive some of the songs on youtube and then purchase the album , you are going to love it.
