I swear, there was no initial plan to have a junk food day. I have been so good and about eating, but a week of basically doing nothing and not wanting to cook, makes those cravings of all things junk food happen. We went into the store, grabbed some ground beef, beans, chips and cheese for our nachos. Then, the junk food aisles jumped out at us and we decided to go for it and have a family junk food night!
In the chip aisle we found the TGI Friday snacks and I grabbed all the flavors. I love these darn potato skin chips so much and the flavors options they had jumped at me. I had tried the loaded potato, but then I saw that they had Bacon Ranch and Jalapeno Cheddar and I knew those were coming home with us too!
We came home, I made nachos and put out all the snack foods too! I made sure that my kids had the actual dinner nachos before they jumped into the junk food. Jump in they did. Seriously, I had to limit what they put on their plates and tell them that they could only get more junk food if they actually ate their dinner.
My son went right for the TGI Friday Potato Skins and piled those on his plate. He sure is his mama’s baby, because I did the same thing! Then he grabbed a couple cookies and a piece of chocolate and went right to the table to dive in.
The little one followed quickly behind and was super excited to eat all the “yummy foods”. Me too kid, me too! I tried to have them eat their nachos first, but there was no stopping them from trying those potato skins. They even put some of the nacho toppings on them and told me that it was the “BEST NACHO EVER”!
My junk food plate was piled high and I ate every single bit of it! So good and so fun. I tried the bacon ranch potato skins for the first time and the flavor was explosive! These are a new favorite of mine. National Junk Food Day in our house came a little early but was totally a great time. We ended the night with Wreck it Ralph and snuggles. Just what this healing mama’s heart needed. It was the perfect easy dinner night with some fun thrown in there. I highly recommend taking some stress off your life and doing a Junk Food Dinner soon. Your family will love it and you will too!
