Our son is an avid gamer and we have done our best to foster both an active lifestyle and his gaming passion. As parents, we want to make sure we are providing a safe and stress free gaming experience. Which is why the Recon 200 headset came into our lives and is absolutely the Best Gaming Headset for your little gamers.
Turtle Beach Recon 200
If there is one thing that we go through in this household, it is headphones. My kids have knack for finding the weakness in the headphones and somehow breaking them. They do not last in this house, so when we tried the Turtle Beach Recon 200 headset, we were seriously skeptical that they would last, yet here we are 2 weeks into owning them and there has not been one single glitch or issue with them. They are truly the best headphones we have ever had.
The Recon 200 headset is an incredible product with awesome specs. Both the husband and I have tried them out and were very impressed with the sound quality, the microphone capabilities and the comfort. Check out everything these have to offer:

- Flip-Up Mic: This mic is hands down the best! Is is clear and easy to move up and out of the way when not needed.
- Metal Reinforced Headband: This is what my kids usually break, and these have just held up like no other. Not a bend, dent or fracture. Honestly, they are so durable.
- Variable Mic Monitoring: This is an awesome feature! You can hear and adjust your voice inside the headset, so you are not shouting at the game and distracting people around you.
- Multi-platform Compatibility: These headsets were designed for Xbox One, Playstation 4™, Nintendo Switch™ as well as PC and Mobile. So honestly they can work on nearly any of your gaming consoles! They are also surround sound ready for the Xbox One.
- ALL DAY BATTERY LIFE: This is the BEST feature out of all of them. Who wants to worry about their headset going dead mid game. My son can play for an hour a day and we only have to charge them like once a week. We have had other wireless headsets that needed charging after just 1-2 hours of use. The battery life on the Recon 200 is incredible.
Gaming Central
Each day my son gets between 45 mins to an hour to relax and play his favorite games. Currently he does most of his gaming either on his tablet or his chromebook. He is really great about monitoring his own time by setting the Google home with a timer and then playing for the allotted time. We have set up an area in our house to be his little gaming central station.
He has his chromebook, the Google home, a mouse, the Recon 200 headset and a charging station for the devices in our home. It makes it nice as a parent to be in the same room with my child when he is gaming and to be able to see what he is doing on the computer. I also really enjoy the fact that I can listen to what he is saying in the headset and jump in and play with him as well.
I will admit that prior to adding the Turtle Beach Recon 200 headset, we were having a lot of meltdowns over not being able to hear the games or videos that he was trying to watch and learn from. Often I was having to take away game time because he was getting very upset over this. In the last two weeks we have not had one instance of this because of the Recon 200 headset. The headset is incredible and has completely helped to alleviate these frustrations and allowed him to enjoy his “relaxation time” as he calls it.
Our Favorite Feature
I went over all the specs above and what we liked about each of them, but I have to tell you that our favorite feature (aside from the battery life) is the ability to adjust the sound from the headset directly. Not only can you adjust the sound in the headset, but you can adjust the microphone sound as well and it is fantastic. My son can turn up the mic to hear me in the background which is awesome because I do not have to yell or grab the headset off his head to get his attention. Oh and he can hear his timer go off even with the headset on!
