Disclosure: I am partnering with Smile Brilliant. All opinions are my own.
A smile is contagious and for me it is also part of my self confidence. A few months ago, I noticed that my smile was dulling and I started to look into whitening systems. I came upon Smile Brilliant and decided to give it a try and share with you my experience and thoughts on this custom whitening system.
Why Smile Brilliant?
When I was 18 I used a whitening strip system. Within a few short days, my teeth were not whitening evenly and were so painfully sensitive that I stopped using them. After seeing my teeth dulling, I searched for a whitening system that had good reviews, was customized and offered a sensitive way to whiten teeth. Smile Brilliant stuck out to me because they offer custom fitted trays for complete coverage, the products are designed for sensitive teeth and it is safe for your gums and enamel.
What is Included in the System?
The complete system comes with molding trays, pastes to create the molds (and backups just in case you mess up) and depending upon the exact system you choose, between 9 and 27 whitening applications and desensitizing applications. There are several systems to choose from based on the level of stains you are looking to whiten.
Creating the Molds
I ordered the kit and it arrived at my doorstep within a few short days. The process I was most nervous about was creating the custom molds of my teeth. The process was actually super simple and stress free. I just following the instruction in the box to mix the base and catalyst pastes and then placed them on my teeth one at a time.
I thought making the molds would be very uncomfortable, but honestly it was not at all. Just a few moments of time and the molds were set up and ready to ship off. I placed them in the return envelope and waited just a couple weeks for the custom trays to come back to me!
I started whitening in May and with the school year coming to an end, and of course end of the year sicknesses, I had to take a break. When June started I began again. I did notice that my teeth were feeling a bit more sensitive than I was expecting, especially since I ordered the sensitive kit. I contacted Smile Brilliant and they gave me a few tips. First, apply vaseline or coconut oil to my gums to protect them from irritation and second to whiten every other day. Once I started doing both of those things, the whitening process was extremely smooth.
I did 7 applications of the Smile Brilliant system over 14 days and the results were incredible. My teeth went from dull and slightly yellow, to bright and white. I have even received a few compliments from complete strangers about my new bright smile! You can see the difference in the photos above.
It took me a little longer than I was hoping to get started and to see results, however, it was completely worth the time and money investment. I love that I have enough product to last for a while as I only used 2 of each syringe. As with any whitening system, the results are not permanent and touch ups will be needed, but knowing that it works and it doesn’t take long to get results makes me so excited. I will say that I spent about an hour and a half each whitening night going through the process, but I just took that time to watch some TV, read or clean up, which made it go quicker.
