Routines, organization, happy family and a clean house. All things that need to be in perfect balance to help me stay sane. When we head back to school, that balance is shifted and routines change. In years past, some of the housework is stunted a bit before I can create a new routine. One of those is typically the floors and that brought me to Mom’s Best Friend, bObsweep!
Arrival of bOb Funk!
I purchased our bObsweep PetHair Plus on Costco’s website and waited eagerly for his arrival. I had read several reviews about how bObsweep is an all-in-one floor care system and was ready to put him to the test. He arrived within 3 days of purchase, packaged just for us with a “birth announcement” welcoming him to our family!
I definitely “awed” when I saw the card on the front, naming our new arrival and giving us his statistics. However, the best part was opening the box and seeing our new bOb Funk and unpackaging him. He was packaged so well that it definitely took some time to remove him and all his awesome accessories, but it was well worth the wait.
bObsweep comes with everything he needs and more to make your house sparkle and maintain him. From a charging unit accessories, to extra brushes and cleaning parts he is ready to take on your home and help you stay sane. He also does not take up as much space as I was expecting.
Set Up and Features
After unboxing our new vacuum, we installed the brushes, set up the charging station, added the bumper pads to the front of the unit and then set bOb Funk to charge. He does need a full charge before the first use, but that gave us plenty of time to read about the cool features and learn how to get the most out of my new robot maid!
The status window atop the machine allows you to see how much charge bOb has, set cleaning modes and even notifies you if a check up is needed. You can also start the robot with the buttons below the screen and send him back to his charger. He is super easy to operate and takes up very little space.
bObsweep Cleaning Features
All charged up, bObsweep was ready to be put into action and my floors were ready to shine! First we set him to deep cleaning mode and let him take off. bOb works by using sensors and patterns to learn your home and clean effectively. If he senses something (or someone) in his path, he turns and adjusts his pattern, if he runs into a table leg, he does so gently and shifts to a new area.
bOb also comes with a remote to control him. My husband and son basically spent two hours playing robot vacuum, cruising him around and steering him to different areas. Honestly, the remote is awesome though because I do not have to be in the same area as the vacuum to start the cleaning process and if he moves to an area that I want him to avoid, I can just move him away with a few buttons. I can also have him return to his charger easily.
Not only does bObsweep vacuum, but this awesome little guy can wet mop too! With a simple attachment he will vacuum and wet mop your floor at the same time! You do have to stop him and rinse the microfiber cloth periodically, but it was awesome to see my floors starting to shine with little effort from me.
The photo below shows bObsweep in action both vacuuming and mopping the floor. This PetHair Plus model really does an excellent job keeping my floors free from dog hair and has no problem going from tile, to area rugs to carpet. One caveat is that you cannot have the mop attachment on bObsweep anywhere near carpet. I had to pick up my area rugs and place the bObsweep block plus to keep him contained to the tile. The block plus is a small block that syncs with the bObsweep to create an invisible barrier that bOb won’t cross.
We are so happy with our bObsweep purchase and how much easier it has made keeping up with household chores in between cleanings. I am no longer sweeping dog hair constantly or stressing about cleaning floors. I can just set bOb to clean on a schedule and I come home to clean floors everytime! I just have to empty his collection container and periodically run maintenance which is no stress and something I will gladly do if my floors continue to stay this clean!
