Putting Mean Green To the Test

Sharing is caring!

Disclosure: I am partnering with Mean Green for this post as an ambassador.  All opinions are my own.

If you have been reading for any amount of time, you already know that I love to clean.  It centers me, it makes me feel more focused and plus everything always smells great!  So when Mean Green reached out to me to be an ambassador I jumped on board because there were some serious areas that needed to be tackled and I wanted to put Mean Green to the test.

Mean Green sent me 3 of their awesome cleaners; Mildew Destroyer, Auto & Garage & Super Strength.  I decided to start with super strength to put their best to the test.  I cleaned up the kitchen in general with it, but wanted to focus on two areas that we do not clean weekly.  The microwave and the oven.

Microwave Results:

So the microwave is honestly not that dirty, my husband and I do try to wipe it down, but there was a spot that you can see in the bottom left of the microwave that our normal household cleaner was not touching (ignore the scorch mark in the back…our daughter put a spoon in the microwave, luckily we still have a house).  I sprayed on the Mean Green Super Strength and allowed it to sit for a couple minutes.  I used a paper towel and that spot was gone.  In fact, the entire microwave cleaned up awesome and with no scrubbing, just wiping down. I used a wet washcloth to rinse it after and boom, looks nearly new!

Oven Results:

So full disclosure before we start.  This oven is 10 years old, I have never once cleaned the inside…I just realized there is a setting on it to “self” clean but it smells terrible, so I am waiting to do that until there is a day we wont be home (also, please tell me this wont burn my house down).  Either way, the door had caked on grease splatters something fierce and honestly was an embarrassment.  I have tried several degreasers and cleaners and nothing has even touched it.

Gross. So gross. However, with some Mean Green and some steel wool, within about five minutes that grossness was all but gone!  I am not even kidding.  I originally tried to just spray the Mean Green on and then wipe it off like I did with the microwave.  It removed some, but not enough.  Initially I was pretty bummed, but then my husband reminded me that there are layers and layers of grease on there and that I need something to penetrate those layers so that the Mean Green can really do its job.  So I grabbed the steel wool and sprayed the Mean Green on generously.

Five minutes. Literally, that is all it took and the glass and door look amazing.  Now I could have spent a little more time getting every single spot off, but I really wanted to do this in a short time so that I could give my readers some reference.  I am a believer and ready to try out the other Mean Green products in our household!  I also want to point out that I did this barehanded and my skin is fine and my manicure held up too.  Not that I or the company recommend this, but the chemicals did not irritate sot that is worth noting.

You really can’t refute results like this.  I will say that I did try the steel wool with just water on the glass and although it did remove the grease spots, it took A LOT longer and much more elbow grease.  Mean Green was the key to saving time, saving energy and saving my oven and microwave from those gross, greasy stains that we all avoid.  Bye, bye grossness, hello to a new way to get those hard to clean areas in tip top shape!  I can’t wait to show you what the Mildew Destroyer and Auto & Garage can do!  I am beyond impressed!
