Gift Ideas that Give Back
The holiday season is upon us and so is the anxiety and growing gift list. All of us are looking for unique, but useful items that our family and friends will love and most of us would like to also give back and purchase items from brands that also support their community. is embracing this unique gift idea by offering independent entrepreneurs a place to offer their products AND give back to society.
With Giving Tuesday being today, this would be a great site to check out and find unique products that are truly awesome. I personally found several items that I love and even more that I know my loved ones will adore as well. With 5% of my purchase going to a charity of my choice, it is a wonderful way for me to give back while supporting the shop local small businesses movement.
A Glimpse at Some Products
I ordered several items from that I wanted to try out and share. From phone cases, to socks that support diabetes, to really beautiful handmade jewelry, I found some amazing gifts that I am so excited about.

We spend A LOT of time in the water during the summer months and if we vacation, it is almost certain that we will be on or near water. In addition, my husband often is tasked with carrying our keys, phones, cards and anything else we need which usually bogs down his pockets. I found this game changing waterproof life jacket that I am so excited to give to my husband!
Ugo is the first of its kind to offer a place to not only store your phone safely, but also your cards and small valuables! The case is lightweight and has enough space to hold everything that you need safely. I did get it home and put my phone in it and ran it under the faucet to see if it would keep out water and it totally did!
Also, it floats! Yes, you read that right. The is buoyant and floats, with up to 3 cell phones in it! Life saver for real and honestly the biggest reason I chose this case. I have dropped my keys and phone into the lake and retrieving them was impossible. Never again will we have to worry about that, because the UGO case will come through.

You can never go wrong with candles. I love having them in our home and when I stumbled upon Sunleaf Naturals, I knew I had to get my hands on these. Sourced locally in Minnesota, Sunleaf Naturals creates their candles and diffusers with 100% natural essential oils, pure plant ingredients and beeswax. The beeswax they get from their honey bee apiary on the Seminary Fen, which is a rare protected ecosystem!
Being from Minnesota, Sunleaf Naturals also focus on protecting freshwater resources and donates 5% of their earnings to the Freshwater Society and also another 5% to the University of Minnesota Bee Lab! Not only are they sourcing their products locally and sustainably, they are also giving back and helping the environment. This biologist loves Sunleaf Naturals mission and goals.

My mom LOVEs unique jewelry. She always has and so when it comes to the holidays, I am always on the lookout for beautifully handmade jewelry. I saw Fair Anita on and was sold. First of all, the jewelry is beautiful and they have a great selection and second they are a women focused company.

My mom is going to love the bracelet and earrings. I love that the packaging tells you where the products were created as well. The bracelet was made in India and it also was made from recycled bullet casings. What an incredible piece of jewelry and story to have.
Are you Kidding Socks
As a teacher, I am inspired by innovative kids. I love supporting my students and any kids that are working to make a difference, so when I found , I was totally all in. My kids adore fun socks and these were right up our alley.
The socks feature fun designs that are created by kids themselves. The goal of Are you Kidding Me Socks are to raise funds and awareness for local and national charities such as Autism Speaks, Special Olympics Florida, American Cancer Society, Big Brother Big Sisters of Miami and The Live Like Bella Foundation.
