Introducing Blaire!

One of my favorite partnerships is with American Girl.  When we first saw the sneak peeks of the American Girl 2019 Girl of the Year, Blaire Wilson, my little girl was ready to have her in hand.  Blaire Wilson is a girl who is all about cooking with fresh food and hosting fun events all while managing life both online and offline.  She is a creative redhead with a drive to connect with people.

She is just stunning in her Garden Bee Dress (that OMG, we HAVE TO HAVE) and striking red hair with a waterfall braid.  She is featured in 2 stories that we are just starting to read and already loving the storylines and has some beautiful and unique accessories to compliment her.

My daughter immediately gravitated to her little tote bag complete with a pen, planner stickers and a notepad.  She also loves the little tablet and walked around telling me that we needed to create the recipes and plant a garden today (you guys, it is 18º out, I definitely laughed at her).  Honestly, out of all the American Girls feature for Girl of the Year, Blaire Wilson has the style that I most adore (although Luciana and her STEM focus obviously has my heart).

Take a Page out of Blaire’s Cookbook

The little girl is always willing to get in the kitchen and cook with me.  In fact, if I am cooking and she is not underfoot, she is up to no good somewhere else.  She thrives creating and is happiest when she is helping.  Blaire Wilson shares the same values.  She enjoys creating recipes (especially desserts) and hosting parties that bring people together.  We decided to take a page out of Blaire’s cookbook and make something the whole family would enjoy.

When we went to the store, the kids both wanted to make pizza.  Personal pizzas are my favorite to make because the kids can make their own and mom and dad can have pizzas with toppings that our kids might not always like.  Blaire Wilson loves to cook with food straight from her family’s farm and we do too, but this time around, we simplified life with premade ingredients and a focus on time spent together.

We made SIX yes SIX personal pizzas.  The kids had pepperoni and meat lovers, while mom and dad went with a basil pesto, chicken, bacon and artichoke pizza.  Our daughter was so proud of the work she put in and honestly, this mama was so happy to have the help.  It also is a bonus because when she cooks, she eats!

Oh and she ate.  The entire personal pizza and then some…then she had more for lunch the following day.  Of course Blaire was in her arms through it all and I have a feeling she will be traveling many places with us, especially as we explore more of her stories through the books.
