We’ve all been there. You have a rushed schedule crammed with your errands, your families activities and fast food. Your car takes a beating and before you even realize, the air you are breathing is less than fresh and the car is a disaster. It is time for you to freshen up that vehicle and I have 3 easy steps to help you through!
Last year I got into a pretty bad car accident with my kids. During the accident my kids were eating and yogurt and pizza went everywhere. It took 5 months of dealing with the insurance before they finally settled. All I had wanted was my car seats replaced at the full cost (which eventually happened), the outside repaired and the inside of my truck detailed. I got the car seats and the outside repairs, but the detail never happened and so for 10 months of crazy busy, I have driven around with yogurt mushed into my carpets and a stinky car. You guys, this is totally not like me, but if you have been around, you also know that this last year has been pretty awful for our family, so deep cleaning the car, was low on the totem pole. It was time for me to take control and I was so thankful that I had Fresh Wave® with me to combat this chaos.
If your vehicle needs a little extra attention too, then this is just the post for you. Here are 3 quick and easy steps to freshening up your vehicle!
1. Wash those carseats
Kids are gross. We all know this. We also know that they are always hungry and so combine gross and hungry with their carseats and you get a hot mess. I make a point to wash the carseats at least every 6 months, but I try to do it more. In my vehicle, these are probably the dirtiest thing and they can smell, so I make sure to use an odor remover like FreshWave® Odor Removing Laundry Booster. I have tried other odor removers, but they just mask the smell. FreshWave actually removes the smell. Once my kids were back in their clean carseats they were sniffing them and telling me how good they smelled. As always consult your car seat manual to see if your carseats can be washed.
2. Clean the carpets
I have a portable carpet shampooer and so the yogurt and pizza were scrubbed out within about 20 minutes. There is not a ton of carpet in cars so it does not take that much time, however, I do not like the smell of carpet cleaning solution at all. I air out my car for days normally to avoid the smell. Not this time! After cleaning those carpets, I sprayed Fresh Wave’s® Odor removing spray and boom, no awful solution smell! Fresh, clean air!
3. Place Odor Removing Packets In the Vehicle
I am a BIG fan of these odor removing packets. HUGE. I was introduced to them last month at my blogging conference and fell head over heels for them. They are so easy to put under furniture and in places that people do not see and boy do they do a great job keeping a fresh smell in the area they are put in. I placed 2 packets under our kids seats to insure that the odors stay at bay!
It took about 30 minutes to get the car seats in the washer, clean the carpets and place the odor removing packs to freshen up my car. When my kids got back in yesterday they made several comments about how good and clean everything smelled. I owe it all to Fresh Wave®. I am a new convert and a forever customer now. After meeting with Dr. Laura (a super smart chemist) at the conference and geeking out over the science behind these products I was totally sold and ready to put them to the test. Test them I did. I have tried all of their products and love them all. My favorites are the odor removing packs and the laundry booster. Fresh Wave® products absolutely do what they say they will do; remove odors so you can live happy, healthy lives.
You know that I am a big science geek and that I love to keep the environment safe and my family healthy. Well Fresh Wave® is sponsoring a Care about Your Air campaign to get everyone on board!
