Friday night we had a girls night in to celebrate my little sisters pending nuptials in just 11 days! Yesterday I alluded to the bachelorette shindig and today I thought I would share with you how we pulled off a low key, Classy & Sassy Bachelorette Bash!
First of all, I take minor credit here as my accomplice (aka: Bridesmaid #2) hosted and gathered the decor but I was on booze & bride patrol so I mean I helped!
After about 3 months of trying to talk my sister into a little bachelorette party we finally succeeded. She has never been one for enjoying the center of attention and definitely was not interested in the bar scene. I knew that missing a little experience like this where we had a “final girls night in” would possibly be regrettable and that we could easily pull off a nice little party with much more class and the same fun! So…Bridesmaid #2 and I came up with a small backyard BBQ with a rustic theme, and coerced the bride into enjoying a small quiet evening.
First up the Decor!
In the buckets were citronella candles which were lit later on and were wonderful ambiance
I decorated her so I feel like this belongs in decor. Classy, not trashy…ok the 1980’s called and wants that veil back
Next up FOOD:
To preface this we decided to do a couple things with the food. First Bridesmaid #2 rocked the smoker and we had amazing BBQ brisket sandwiches. Second, we asked that each guest bring their favorite side to share along with a printed recipe for the bride to be to add to her recipes. My sister did not really want gifts so this was a perfect way for everyone to give and share at the same time.
Chocolate covered strawberries were a HUGE hit!
So much AHHHmazing food
Simple recipe: 1/2 Liter of Sprite, 2 cans of frozen lemonade, 4 bottles of Moscato and ice
For the toast we did Fizzy Popsicles: Champagne with Popsicles! So delicious
The party was a hit and we all just enjoyed mingling and laughing and dancing and slightly terrifying thunderstorm that moved our S’mores inside. My sister loved it and even though she is not one for being the center of attention she texted us later that night to thank us for “making” her have the party. It was a great time had by all!
Yes my marshmallow is on fire…obviously the bridesmaid booze was a hit
So what do you think? Have you ever hosted a Bachelorette Bash?
