Wonder is a movie that is based on the book by R.J. Palacio chronicling the story of a special little boy named Auggie and his journey to start school after being homeschooled for the start of his life. Auggie is a bit different, but he is wise beyond his years and played by an amazing action, Jacob Trembly.
Wonder takes the audience through various point of views and showcases hard topics to address with kids in a visual way that helps guide discussions on topics of death, bullying, friendships, acceptance and self esteem. I know when we left the theater my son was full of questions, comments and general conversation that was sparked from this beautiful movie.
Wonder opens in theaters today and is rated PG. I had my 4 year old in the theater and she did just fine. I highly recommend taking your children to this movie, having conversations with your children and reading the book. I need to admit that I have not read the book, but I am hitting up Amazon today and purchasing it to read with my kids. I really loved this movie. I love the message and the actors are some of my favorites too!
