2019 Toyota Sequoia TRD
We are still reeling from our incredible Spring Training trip last month. It was an experience of a lifetime and something that we will never forget, but one of the best parts of the trip was the road trip and our fantastic companion, the 2019 Toyota Sequoia TRD.
The look, the driving capabilities, the features and so much more, make the 2019 Toyota Sequoia TRD a list topper in our favorite cars to date. This full size SUV is perfect for families or an off-road adventurer. We were sad to give it back after our incredible week cruising around a few states. Read on to learn more about this stunning car.
Exterior Features
This car just looks tough and sleek. I mean with the magnetic gray metallic paint, the black and chrome grill and those blacked alloy wheels, the 2019 Toyota Sequoia TRD is a vehicle that will take you anywhere. My husband was ready to trade off our car on this beauty from the moment we got in and started on our road trip.
Our favorite exterior feature was the LED headlights and the auto bright feature. Driving through the Rocky Mountains in the middle of the night with HERDS of deer and elk everywhere, those headlights saved our lives and sanity. They illuminated the road, the shoulder and beyond.
We received a lot of compliments on our drive into Scottsdale and while we were driving around Arizona. From the other people attending the #ToyotaGrandSlam who were just oogling the car, to people rolling up to us at stop lights telling us how nice the car looks and asking questions, to the people at the car wash who asked my husband a million questions about the trim package and off roading, this car drew some serious attention.
Interior Features
The exterior of the car is just beautiful, but to be honest, the interior of the car is what matters most to me. I love features, functionality and room in a vehicle. I have almost always driven a large vehicle and I basically live in my car during the school year so when I am looking at cars, I am studying that interior hard. The 2019 Toyota Sequoia TRD has seating for 7, a sleek black interior and auto fold down 3rd row seating.
I LOVE the auto fold feature. It is so nice to be able to just press a button and have the seats fold so you can easily load and unload cargo as needed. In addition, passengers in the 2nd row have captains seats. As a mom, captains seats are a must. My kids can easily get into their seats and if we have passengers in the 3rd row, they can pass through to the back with ease. I will never buy another vehicle without captains seats.
You can purchase the Sequoia TRD with two different trim packages. The premium package comes with leather (which as a parent, you want something you can just wipe off). Toyota has some of the softest leather I have ever touched. Our 15 hour drive was very comfortable and the heated/AC seats were a bonus.
In addition to all the bells and whistles on the dash and steering column, the Toyota Sequoia TRD has a premium audio system, with navigation and a sunroof that my husband insisted on having open basically the entire time we were in sunny Arizona. So roomy, so comfortable and so loaded with features for both functionality and flair!
All Weather Ready
In Colorado, our weather goes from sunny and 70 to -10 and icy in about 40 minutes. Apparently, New Mexico has us beat because they go from sunshine, to rain, sleet, snow, hail and wind in about 30 minutes. The 2019 Toyota Sequoia TRD is all weather ready and handles incredibly well in every weather.
We had no issues navigating this car through those ever-changing weather systems and were very glad to be in a car that handled so well and drove through the weather just like it was built to. While other cars were struggling on the roadway, we were cruising through the changes like nothing was happening. It was pretty sweet to test this car out (unexpectedly) in every weather we could imagine.
Safety Features
Safety is key when you are purchasing any car and we really loved the safety features that the 2019 Toyota Sequoia TRD has. From adaptive cruise control with full-stop, forward-collision and pedestrian warning, lane-departure warning, emergency braking and of course those auto high beams, Toyota nailed the safety features.
This mom is big on safety features and I love how intuitive this car is. It is comforting to be alerted to potential safety concerns while you are driving and the fact that the car has the ability to respond for you is awesome. Also, the rearview backup camera was crisp and clear which in these big SUVs can be tough to find.
Epic Road Trip Vehicle!
This 5.7 L beast of a vehicle with a V8 roars down the road. In fact, it purred so loudly that I thought maybe I was driving it wrong. Nope, this car is built to drive and tow and take you anywhere you want to go. It was an epic road trip vehicle and would be great for families with all the room and power it has.
We had no issues driving through 3 states in this beauty and would do it again in a heartbeat. The 2019 Toyota Sequoia TRD was a great road trip companion and handled everything we threw at it and in it for that matter!
