Regale in The Holidays with Colorado Ballet’s The Nutcracker

A couple weeks ago our family dressed in our best and headed downtown to enjoy our first holiday experience of 2021. Colorado Ballet’s The Nutcracker, FINALLY returned to the Ellie Caulkins Opera House stage for their 60+1 season, complete with new sets and new costumes!

The Nutcracker is a a holiday tradition that tells the story of Clara and her beloved Nutcracker and their travels. Colorado Ballet brings this story to life in a stunning way. From incredible dancing and storytelling, to moments of humor and the beautiful new sets and costumes, this years 60+1 season is not to be missed.

Great Family Experience

I have attended The Nutcracker for 8 years (last year we watched on TV). Most years it is just myself and our daughter, but this year we decided to go as a whole family. I love this story so much and was very excited to share this with our son and my husband. They had not been to see Colorado Ballet in years and I knew they were going to really enjoy this.

Colorado Ballet in times of COVID

COVID protocols were very simple and very organized going in and overall it didn’t change the experience for us. We enjoyed the show, dazzled in the new sets and fangirled over the costumes (ok, the little one and I did anyway). The boys laughed a ton with us and we had just an overall great time.

Gifts from Colorado Ballet

As we left the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, the employees handed each child a little gift to unwrap. My children dove right into that and were elated to have their very own little nutcrackers as a little keepsake. It was such a sweet gift to give and I know other kids were just as happy.
