Happy Birthday Boogie!
Today you are a BIG FROG! In our family that is a big deal. You’re 5, you’re no longer a baby, toddler or preschooler.
These past 5 years have been the best; you (and your sister) make them even better. You are truly a gift from God and I am so lucky that you chose me to be your mommy.
You are so sweet but so sneaky at the same time. It’s one of those character traits that’s unique to little boys. You like to sneak down to give extra “loves” to me and daddy and the dogs. You sneak the iPad to play learning games. You sneak candy…just like daddy! It’s a character trait that both drives me crazy and also makes me love you even more.
You have grown tremendously this past year. I swear you skipped over 4T clothes. I am constantly buying new clothes to keep up with your growing body. I think we have officially moved into the little boys section and although I am so glad you are healthy and growing it saddens me a bit to know that you are not a baby anymore. However, you will always be my baby!
You love all things “boy”! Camping, fishing, motorcycles, ninja turtles and power rangers and you can make a machine gun sound that is amazing…but drives your daddy nuts. You live for being outside but are also a complete homebody. When we asked you what you wanted to do for your birthday today, you told us that you just wanted to stay home. We had to offer up options that appealed to you before you decided that you wanted to go out. I think if you could stay home in your PJ’s and watch movies and play all day you would.
You love school and are very smart. I am always impressed with how much you are able to read and your ability to add and subtract with ease. I hope that it always stays that way. Your school next year will challenge you but I pray it also inspires you to be amazing…because you are. This next year will be a big change and transition for our family but one that will shape you and I am excited to see where we go from here.
Little man you are my everything, my world and a piece of me. We share a bond that I could never share with another. I love you to infinity and beyond, forever and a day and NOTHING will change.
