Two years ago we finished our basement and two years later, I am finally decorating the space.
Our guest room is small and actually part of my office, but we have had several people use it and it is a bit embarrassing that I still was using decorative pieces from my teenage years (hello, pillows I made in home economics). Our little guest room needed an update so I hit up my favorite home decor store.
The At Home store is an absolute favorite of mine. My best friend introduced me to this little slice of decor heaven and I was in love. The prices are great, the selection is incredible and the variety is wonderful
Walking into an At Home store is like magic. Our local store used to be an old big box store and it is gigantic and full of fantastic things. The displays are always so very nice and appealing.
When we walked in this time we noticed they had their campus collection right out front. I wasn’t necessarily shopping for a dorm room as those days are far behind me, but the colors and the collection was so nice, that I ended up purchasing right off the displays! I did think it was pretty awesome that they had this checklist for parents and kids heading off to school though and so we snagged one up for future reference.
I filled up our buggy with a few awesome items from their campus collection and headed home to get my decorator on!
I had a $50.00 budget and really did stick to it and snagged some beautiful items. Our basement is very bland and although there is color on the walls, it is moot. As in the wall in the picture below is blue, but it looks white. I decided to go for some bold pops of color in the decor.
The believe arrow and the flower arrangement are just stunning and compliment each other very well.
The bright colors really bring a pop of color into the room. I love the rich pastels and the variety of colors they bring into the room.
This pillow was a fun pick. I wanted a throw pillow that would feel welcoming and breed positivity. In fact the entire room idea was to make my guest feel happy, loved and encouraged, so this pillow was perfect!
The centerpiece to the space was this stunning water color canvas. It was actually my first pick and it is so easy to see why this is a perfect piece to our guest room.
These simple decorative touches have brought a little happiness to our tiny little guest space and I hope that our future guest love the changes and feel welcome into our home.
If you are looking to redecorate on a budget or heading back to campus, make sure to check out the At Home stores!
