Not me just disappearing and reappearing on here whenever. I mean, it is my blog, I pay to keep it up, so I do get to make that choice. 2025 has not been the best of years for us, but it isn’t horrible. Here is a bit of a recap!
January 2025
I was ready for this year to get going. It isn’t that 2024 was bad, it was that I just wanted this year to be better than ever. I had goals, I had plans…and then I caught covid and the flu at the same time. My entire household was down, my kids missed nearly 2 weeks of school and it was awful. We did get to celebrate my sisters birthday and that was awesome.

February
Coming off the sickness from hell, we jumped back into life pretty quickly. Enjoyed a night out at Monster Jam and then went on our 4th Disney Cruise. Whew that cruise was a doozy. Weather was terrible when we arrived in Galveston. That kept us off the beach, that I had planned to spend the day prior to embarking on the ship at, but we made the most of it at Rainforest Cafe. But the next 5 days on the ocean would prove to be chaos and shambles with items being stolen from us and then lost glasses and a sick husband. We tried to make up for the beach day in Progreso Mexico which was fun, but overall, was not a great time.

March
We obviously came home from the cruise sick again, because of course! Missing more school and work and just struggling. We managed to have the littlest Funks 12th birthday and found a great starter car for the oldest Funk. My daughter and I also took in Disney on Ice and that was the month of March, it flew by.

April
April was the month I was looking so forward to. I was returning to my favorite blogging conference for the first time since the pandemic. I was ready to feel re energized and see so many friends. This conference was in Orlando so a trip to the parks was obviously a must. The first day, I was on my own as my roommate wasn’t arriving until late that night, but the next day was a full fledged crazy day at Magic Kingdom and was amazing. The conference started and was meh. When I got home, it was time to celebrate the teenager turning 15 and get that driving permit!

May
May brought a welcome end to the longest school year. I am getting to be old and grumpy in these last years of teaching. I have to figure something out. Not a ton was done, but I did get these bulb flower beds in and learned to bake bread and then we got to see Lilo & Stitch, so that was a win!

June
Which brings us to June. I was so ready for a productive summer. Big plans to redo my kids bedrooms and closets and declutter this house from all the toys finally. Then the water heater blew, the AC went out on everything (my car, our house, the camper), the weather was a mess and I was still just not feeling myself. Oh and of course we had a baby tornado scare the living heck out of us. We did get to go on our one and only camping trip of the season and Mr. Funk and I celebrated 17 years of Marriage!

Currently I am in the process of trying to declutter spaces so that I can get back to feeling like life is not enveloping me. Everywhere I look there is some sort of project or something that I need to get done. I think a lot of it is that my kids are older, we have no need for the toys and our home is transitioning. This makes it feel like there is stuff everywhere that we don’t need (which is true) and I just want to throw everything away. I have also had some medical issues going on, but that is for another update, another day. School starts for me in about a week and a half and I plan to try to get as much of this house done as I can muster. Wish me luck!
