This summer I had a huge goal to declutter our house and create spaces that were inspiring and bright. I headed over to the At Home Store to help with my goals and they did not disappoint!
My office space had not been updated since my son was a baby. Six years is a long time to have the same old decor and honestly nothing about it was inspiring. It was just a hodge podge of items collected over the years. It was time to turn a space that I use all the time, into a space where I could be inspired to create, design and love.
I started by clearing the top of the desk hutch and simplifying it. I wanted to display our engagement photo from our wedding that everyone signed. I purchased a simple photo stand that matched the frame for just $8.00. Bringing in some color to this basement room was also important. I loved the bright floral arrangement and the gold accents that I found in the Campus Collection. The flowers were $15.00, the “Believe” sign was $13.00 and the gold orb was $15.00.
For my desk area, I really wanted some inspiring signs but since my little desk is one of those that you build and the back is very delicate board, I could not put up a large canvas or frame. When I found these two awesome banners in bright colors with fun sayings and gold, I was sold. Each banner only cost $6.00 and they look perfect on my desktop.
One final touch to my office was a big necessity. Often times my office space becomes a dumping ground for papers that need to be shredded and papers that need to be filed. I needed to find a tiered paper organizer and luckily, I found this beauty for just $35.00! Already I have been using it and I love it!
