Week 2: Low Carb High Fat Lifestyle Journey

I started back on the low carb high fat lifestyle two weeks ago yesterday.  In the first week I lost 4.8 lbs and then gained back part of that, ending at 1.2 total lbs lost.  I was eager that this next week I would be kicking butt and losing that 5 lbs I had wanted to, however, I made some choices and well, that didn’t happen.

Last week wasn’t bad by any means.  In fact, it was wonderful.  My husband and I are on the same work schedule for the first time in 7 years!  We were both home at the same time, we co-parented all week, we were just the best team and it was amazing.  We also ate out a lot and my choices were not great at all therefore my low carb high fat lifestyle was failing a bit.

I gained weight.  I am not up to my heaviest, but I still gained and that was a bummer.  I would do pretty good at packing lunches that were low carb, but then it was back to school and of course there was birthdays and celebrations and cake.  Right now my will power and motivation to not eat the cake is low because that scale is not moving quickly and I am an immediate results type of person…so I ate the cake…and the donuts…and the ice cream.  You get it.

We had no meal plans and that severally stunted the progress and to top it off, everyone was getting used to a new schedule, we were tired and as is typical we are also overbooked.  I threw in the towel last week and I am not happy with my choices.  I will say that not all of them were bad.  95% of my lunches this week were low carb and filling and wonderful.  I also continued my medications and I feel much better and my blood sugars were lower!

In addition, I decided to start a little instagram posting on trendy mom fashion, because honestly, I love fashion and I really have been wanting to start this for a LONG time.  My hope is that if I continue to feature myself in some full length portraits, then I will also see the change and be more motivated.  Right now that is the part that is killing me and so my goal for the upcoming week is to focus on motivating myself and making good choices.
