Finding Inspiration
Like any person on the internet, I scroll through social media and I save things that I like. I am a huge fan of English muffins and when I came across this recipe for cinnamon sugar and chocolate crisps, I was ready to eat them right then and there. Honestly, I love the fact that English muffins can be enjoyed for more than just breakfast. We have eaten them for every meal including these awesome pizza bites!
Obviously finding that yummy recipe meant that it was time to grab my favorite Bays English Muffins from the dairy case, carefully chilled for freshness, just the way I like them! Honestly, I get these English muffins in bulk and freeze them often, so I can have that delicious goodness all the time. They thaw out so incredibly easy and the taste does NOT change!
I then gathered up the rest of the really simple ingredients. Dark chocolate melting wafers, ground cinnamon, sugar, butter and of course my Bays English Muffins. I was never so excited to make a recipe from the internet and boy were my kids ready to jump in and help too!
Cinnamon Sugar and Chocolate Crisps
This recipe is very simple to make and only takes about 30 minutes. You simply take 2 Bays English Muffins and cut them into five strips per muffin half. You should have 20 strips when you are done. Once that is completed you bake, cut side down, for 9-10 minutes. Remove them and allow to cool, this doesn’t take more than 5 minutes.
Once they are cooled, you will toss the muffin crisps with some melted butter in a mixing bowl and then place them back on the cookie sheet, cut side down. Then take the cinnamon and sugar and mix them together and sprinkle it generously on your muffin crisps. Bake these for 5-6 minutes until they are golden brown and then allow to cool.
As the crisps are cooling, place your melting wafers in a microwave safe bowl and melt them. Then one by one, dip one end of the crisps into the chocolate and then removed and place on wax paper to cool.
If you would like to harden these quicker, pop them into the freezer for 3-5 minutes. They came out incredible and were so simple to make. We devoured the 1st batch and definitely made a double batch to enjoy over the next few days!
