Sunday our family decided to take a little drive south and attend a fun little Superhero Sunday event at The Melting Pot in Littleton Colorado. I am so glad that we made the hour drive, because we had a wonderful time.
From the moment we arrived at the event, we were greeted by happy faces and people so willing to make our day special that we felt a bit like celebrities. We pulled up and they had complimentary valet parking, then we walked in through the patio to check in, they quickly seated us outside by this pretty fountain.
Our little guy immediately spotted Spider-Man and waited eagerly for him to come to our table. We didn’t wait long, the superhero team of Wonder Woman and Spider-Man were right over to sign autographed photos, hand out superhero bracelets and take pictures. My kids were already enjoying the day and our meal had not even started yet.
We did find out that our little girl was slightly afraid of masked characters, but Spider-Man did a good job not overwhelming her or making her feel too scared. She kept her distance in the beginning but by the end of the day, she was giving high fives and dancing!
While the kids enjoyed meeting the Superheros, the husband I and enjoyed the food. The cheese fondue was fantastic and both our kids did try it and oddly enough they preferred the veggies and cheese over the bread. For our second course my husband and I had a salad while the kids enjoyed a fruit cup.
As our meal was winding down, the party really got started. The music the entire time was really fun and upbeat, but it quickly turned into a dance party. The kids did the cupid shuffle, the hokey pokey and even limboed among other fun things. Our littlest wanted to partake in the dancing and the husband and I were still eating, so the awesome owner came over and asked her to dance and they just became instant best friends. Our princess loved it!
After all that dancing, it was time for chocolate fondue. Our kids were all over this and we ate nearly the entire plate of sweets! We went with the milk chocolate and our kids were licking their plates in pure joy!
Their happy chocolate fondue faces say it all! Oh and that Wonder Woman tiara the princess is wearing is still on her head, 2 days later. She absolutely loves it! The Melting Pot in Littleton really outdid themselves with their hospitality. Not only was the food fantastic, the staff impeccable, but the atmosphere was fun with the music, games, dancing and entertainment. They also had face painting. My kids do not like getting their faces painted (weird), but every other kid there was loving. In addition, they did such a great job focusing on the kids and making them feel like this was their place to relax, have fun and enjoy a special time dedicated to fighting crime and enjoying life.
We were so lucky to have been asked to enjoy this day and my kids are still talking about how much they had fun. The price was just right at $35.00 for each adult and $14.95 for kids 4-12 (little ones 3 and under are free). Reservations are required and are taken from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm. There are 3 more Superhero Sundays scheduled through this summer and for those of you with little princesses and princes, there is also Fondue Fairytale offered as well!
