This week is near and dear to my heart. It is a week where teachers get a bit more love an attention and most of all appreciation for what we do. As a high school teacher we do not get near the appreciation that the primary school teachers get, so you learn to appreciate the little things. My students fed me pizza yesterday, today I got a coffee, and some silly tweets from my kids. My seniors last day is today so they are all slightly distracted and the school is starting to feel empty.
Yesterday I realized I had yet to get Eyan’s preschool teacher a gift to show her how much we have appreciated her and all her work with our little class. So I ran to the store and grabbed a few items and came up with some catchy sayings to show her that we appreciate all the time and effort she takes to teach our kids.
Here is what I came up with.

My Mom was a 5th grade teacher for over 35 years so this week is definitely special for me too. We try to find little ways to say "thank you" to our teachers through out the year, but always during Teacher Appreciation Week!

Nothing says thank you like something you made for yourself. The kids get out of school the end of the month and I have to get his teacher a gift myself.
