How to Increase Your Breastmilk Supply with Let there Be Milk
Sharing is caring!
Inside: Looking for results or a Let There Be Milk Review? This post will show you how I increased my breastmilk supply while using this tincture.
After the birth of our daughter I was so excited to exclusively breastfeed her, as we did not have that option with our son. I had experience, I figured my body would keep up with supply and demand and when that didn’t happen, I was lost. However, I have Let There Be Milk to thank for getting my tiny failure to thrive daughter and I through our breastfeeding journey! In addition, our pediatrician was very supportive of our use of this supplement and impressed with its effectiveness as well! So please read on to follow our story and success with Let There Be Milk.
Our Breastfeeding Dilemma
For the first six months of my daughters life I was basically home with her and my breastmilk supply was keeping up with her needs. My supply started to tank when I went back to work and I started to see the frustration in my tiny girl when we would nurse. My supply was struggling to keep up with the demand our little peanut was putting on me and although I tried pretty much everything to increase my supply, I did not find any major success. I wanted so badly to make it to one year. From lactation cookies, to increasing water to power pumping, it just wasn’t enough. I needed something else and between my milk supply dropping and the diagnosis of failure to thrive, the stress wasn’t helping matters at all.
Our Solution – Let There Be Milk To the Rescue
I was ELATED when Rochelle at Birth Song Botanicals contacted me to review their “Let There Be Milk” tincture. The packaging was beautiful and I loved the little touches of the sweet thank you note on the back of the business card as well as the magnet and of course the cute little bottle of “Let There Be Milk!” At this point I was willing to try anything to make it to my one year goal of exclusively breastfeeding and luckily both the nutritionist and our pediatrician were very supportive of this goal. I took the tincture into one of our FTT appointments and they both looked it over and said they had no issues with me trying it as the issue was not that our girl wasn’t getting what she needed from my milk, it was that she was likely metabolizing the nutrients too fast. So I went for it!
I immediately jumped into taking it, there was no time to lose! Initially I followed the directions and took 20 drops. I placed them in a shot glass (classy folks!) and downed it quickly. Whew that was a bit of a surprise. The taste was fine initially but I definitely had to chase it with a glass of water because the aftertaste was a bit bitter. After that first time, I filled the shot glass 1/2 full with water and then placed the 20 drops in and took it that way. It was MUCH better with water. I took it three times a day and it took about 3 days to take effect. Once it did take effect though, it was like the early days of nursing. I was waking up engorged and needing relief, and little peanut was completely satisfied and even better, she started to gain just a tiny bit of weight! That was a win in our corner and I was 100% excited about this.
I was even able to create a stash for our trip to Vegas!
I took Let There Be Milk for several more months and in addition, I also increased my water and did power pumping to enhance the effects of the tincture. I also worked on relaxation techniques to help my body with the stress that I was under from our daughters diagnosis and that dip in my supply. It helped me to build a stash of milk which came in handy when my husband and I went on two separate vacations sans kids that year. Birth Songs Botanicals helped me reach my goal of nothing but mama’s milk for her first year! This was truly a Godsend and worked very well. I highly recommend purchasing some today and please let me know how it is going for you and if you have any questions!

How long did it take for you to see a difference? I am on day 3 and no change yet :(

Hey! For me it took about 3 days before I noticed a change. I do remember that I was much more thirsty on the tincture then typical and was chugging water like crazy which I know helped as well. Give it some time. My milk supply adjusted quickly, but I know it can take a week or more for your body to adjust.

Hi!! I've had a huge dip in my supply to where I barely get 2ozs when I pump...in the morning!. Does the capsules work the same as the drops? I desperately want to get milk back flowing for her. Right now she's on formula and I give what little I can get pumped. Amy and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hey! I have only used the drops, so I have no comparison for you. I would think the capsules work similar.

Hi Laura, I’ve tried it for a week now and it seems to work well. However, my son is experiencing constipation for two days already, Any thoughts. Do you know any side effects of this?

Glad to hear it’s working for you too!!! I did some quick research and typically the fenugreek can causes green watery poo, it might be something else that you ate that cause the constipation?
