Lakeside KOA Holiday
We are huge Kampgrounds of America fans here and on our quest to visit a few of these awesome campgrounds each year, we decided to share one of our absolutely favorites here in Fort Collins, Colorado! The Lakeside KOA Holiday is a gem nestled against the Poudre River in the quaint little college town.
We have been here a couple times and love visiting. Each year that we go, it seems that the campground adds more for families to do while keeping that clean, friendly atmosphere and great price. We were actually supposed to come here in October 2020, but on our way up, we blew the transmission in our pickup. Arriving at Lakeside KOA Holiday was just that much sweeter when we visited last weekend for Father’s Day!
3 Reasons to Visit Lakeside KOA Holiday
We have visited KOAs in San Antonio and Moab and they were very nice and enjoyable places, but our hands down favorite to date is the Lakeside KOA Holiday in Fort Collins, Colorado. Here are 3 reasons to visit.
1. Swimming & Splash Pad Fun
My children are little fish. They love to swim and usually when we book a trip anywhere, they are asking about swimming. This KOA has a great little pool area that they are continuing to upgrade. Complete with a full restroom area, a small kiddie pool and a larger pool as well as a brand new splash pad.
The pool is not open year round (because Colorado winters), however, it is clean and well maintained. We often saw staff checking chemicals, cleaning up the space and making sure the bathrooms were in good shape. The new splash pad was not there last year and was a HUGE hit with my kiddos.
Ok, well actually it was a huge hit with all of us. You forget what it is like to be a kid and running through the splash pad was great fun and pure joy!
2. Family Focused Fun
Everything about the Lakeside KOA Holiday is centered on family. They have an unreal amount of fun activities that families can do and it truly was the perfect place to spend Father’s Day weekend. From peddle bikes to putt putt and so much more, you can be assured that no one will be bored.
We rented the peddle bikes for a quick jaunt around the lake, utilized the dog parks, played on the playground, jumped in the bounce houses, hit the shuffleboard courts and even had a rousing game of putt putt, in which I lost miserably, but had the prettiest ball.
3. Water Activities
The Lakeside KOA Holiday has their own private lake that they keep stocked with fish and even have some water activities that families can enjoy. You can fish right off the floating docks, lake shores or even a gorgeous gazebo and if you are looking for some giggles, jump in a paddle boat or bumper boat.
Great For Families
The activities listed above are not all that Lakeside KOA Holiday has to offer. They have impeccable service and such a friendly staff. The campground is very clean, they have onsite dining and even pizza delivery to your site! They have organized events and fun for families and you can participate as much or as little as you would like
