You know I almost forget each year that transitioning in and out of school breaks always causes some chaos in my life. Getting back into routine, learning how to manage everything on my plate and still keeping my passions alive are all so encompassing. That is why it has been a few days since I have posted anything.
It is not that I don’t have anything to post. My publishing scheduled is full, always, but I just need to make sure that I am focusing energy on getting myself organized and comfortable with this new schedule. I still want to share about our trip to Harry Potter land (ok, I know that is not what Universal calls it, but, its what my kids call it so, they win), my sons first day of school, the princesses dance progress, some tips and tricks to prepare for a Disney Cruise, my hysterectomy update along with DIY tutorials, some tasty recipes and brands we love. I have it all planned, but its the execution that I am lagging behind on.
I went back to work on August 10th (2 weeks ago) and it has been non-stop from the moment I walked back into the building. I LOVE my school, my team members, my schedule, my classes, my students. All of it. I feel refreshed this year walking into a building that last year was in so much turmoil. I didn’t write about that here, but essentially we had some leadership issues that were causing a lot of stress in our building and it was not always a pleasant building to be in. I am SO thankful that this year we are off to a better start and the feeling in the building is electric.
Of course, that electricity, pulls me into everything that teachers have a love/hate relationship with. Data discussions, professional development, planning, grading, organizing and so much more. Combine all the back to school excitement with a booming blog and you get a VERY busy couple of weeks where it almost feels like you cannot breathe.
I have never considered myself a BIG blogger (probably never will, because I am not a celebrity), but this week I got to experience a little celebrity and was featured on our local news stations, morning show. It was exhilarating and so fun. I am pretty outgoing and entertaining, so for me, it was fairly natural to be on screen. I asked the anchor if I should be nervous and she told me that most people are…at that point all I could think was that this segment was going to be a hott mess! However, it was exactly the opposite! It went fast, I felt comfortable and it was so fun. I told the anchor that that was fast and she said, “You thought so? Most people think it takes forever!” I just hope they want me back!
The segment is below for you to view if you so care! Otherwise, this is it for me today! Enjoy your Thursday!
