We Graduated Preschool!

Sharing is caring!

Well it is official, the little girl has officially finished preschool and is onto kindergarten in the fall.  I have a lot of emotions about this next transition in our lives, however, I am so very proud of this stunning little girl and the work she has put in these past two years!

Friday evening, our family came together to celebrate this little girl in a cute little preschool graduation.  It was short and sweet and adorable!  Our daughter, ever the fashionista had to dress the part.  It was raining a bit so she went with a full length dress she wore for Easter last year, with some bunny shoes, a cardigan and tights.  Of course, she had to have curls, some jewelry and a little lipstick.  Yes folks, this girl LOVES lipstick, but I will only put it on her if it is a very special occasion.

They walked the little graduates in and sat them down.  Her preschool director and her preschool teacher each gave a little speech about the class and then they handed out diplomas.  All the kids had them initially facing themselves and it took some coaxing from the audience to have them turn them around.

One thing that the preschool does is give a flower to the parents to thank them for their support.  Each child takes a flower to their mom in the crowd and it is a super cute time for them to show off their diploma and take a few photos. After the flower and photos, the kids went back to their seats and sang us a little song about graduating preschool and heading to kindergarten.  Our little girl knew that song by heart but sang so quietly!

When she turned to have our babysitter take her photo, I snapped this profile shot.  It was that moment that I nearly cried.  This is our last year with our babysitter.  We have been so incredibly blessed to have her help raise our son and daughter.  They would not be the amazing kids they are without her and the fact that we won’t see her nearly every day is breaking my heart (and hers too).  The kids are pretty sad about it as well, however, our babysitter has been in my life since I was 6 months old and she will ALWAYS be a part of their lives too.  We will be camping with them and I am going to look at the school schedule and see if she can take them on the days they have off of school that I do not.  It is going to be a hard transition for us all.

Once graduation was over, we took some photos with our friends, had some little cookies and punch and then played a bit with everyone.  It was a very nice graduation and I am in shock at how fast that went.  She is off to full day kindergarten with her brother next year and this mama is not even close to ready!

We have an entire summer to prep for new beginnings, new schedules, riding the bus and taking this next leap.  I still don’t feel like it is enough time, but ready or not, Kindergarten here we come!

Congratulations to your little girl, she’s growing up really fast. Also, your son looks very nice in his formal dress attire. Your children are very nice looking and I wish I lived in Colorado so I could meet them!
