Thankful Thursday: Little Life Wins

Sharing is caring!

November is a month that most people reflect on what they are thankful for.  However, I think most of us try to do this constantly.  I have been doing the 30 days of Thankfulness on Facebook for the past couple years and I really do enjoy it.  I thought I would share some of those life wins and thankful moments here too.  Maybe I will make this a weekly thing year-round.
You know I put a lot of hard work and time into my sons halloween costumes over the years.  Each year we enter him in the same online contest and this year we came in second, however, his amazing school put on a contest and he came in first!  His ideas and my crafty side work well together, so I was elated to see him win the contest!  I make these costumes because it makes him happy, but also because I love a good challenge.  It is very nice to be recognized and see that smile on my baby boys face.

Last week was election day!  Voting is important to me.  I literally love to vote. There is so much value in the process and even though I am just one vote in millions, I do feel like I have a say.  In Colorado some very large ballot items were up and although not everything that I voted for won, some of the largest in terms of education did!  We overturned a treacherous school board in one of the largest districts here as well as finally passed a school bond issue to build more schools in another district that so desperately needs it.  Education is the reason I vote and I am very thankful for that privilege, to support schools, teachers and most of all the needs of kids.

Not only have I been getting crafty with costumes, I have been getting crafty with hair.  Lately I am bored with my hairstyle.  I have been trying a few different things in the mornings that are both easy and cute.  I really like this sock bun and received a lot of compliments.   The peanut has also been letting me play with her hair more and I was able to do this full french braid.  I cannot believe how long her hair is getting.

Lastly, I am thankful for coffee.  Like so incredibly thankful in a terribly unhealthy way.  I went from hardly drinking any caffeine for the majority of my life to downing at least 2 medium coffees a day.  I keep telling myself that this next summer I am weaning myself off the coffee, but until then I am enjoying mid-day trips to our local coffee retailer and I think our pups are too!  They were really into ordering and picking up our coffee!

There you have it friends.  Life’s little wins and things I am thankful for this week.  Are you reflecting on what you are thankful for this month?
